			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are very excited to announce our affiliation with the <a href="http://atavola.createsend2.com/t/r/l/trcdly/phdiukhjh/t/">Slow Food International Association</a> . Slow Food has grown from a relatively small Italian movement – still with its headquarters in Carlo Petrini’s hometown of Bra – to an international phenomenon, with more than 100,000 members worldwide. The organisation grew out of a protest against the opening of a McDonalds in Rome! Eugenio first went and heard Carlo speak at the Sydney Food Festival back in 2009 and was inspired by the dedication of the movement in protecting traditional foods and agricultural diversity.  A Tavola proudly hosted Slow Foods first ever Primavera event showcasing producers from the Northern Rivers area of NSW in September and it was a great success. Eugenio created a menu that showcased the very best of paddock to plate cooking. From Eugenios hand made pastas, to fresh, vibrant produce and the locally produced, organic proteins, the dinner embodied the diversity of local produce and the principles of the Slow Food movement. We look forward to working with more local producers and growers in the future.</p>

It was a fantastic night and it was great to be surrounded by so many industry professionals. It is one night that makes you remember why we do what we do &#8211; simply because we love it so much. We are also extremely lucky to have a wonderful family at A Tavola &#8211; every single staff member works hard to bring something special to our customers every night. The amount of talent and energy in the Sydney restaurant scene is certainly world class. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A Tavola is proud to support <a href="http://atavola.createsend1.com/t/r/l/tttykkl/l/o/">The Bread For Good Project </a>which is an initiative of the Sydney Morning Herald in conjunction with UNICEF. This nationwide campaign invites patrons of participating restaurants to donate $2 or more for the complimentary bread that we provide to you which will then be donated directly to this campaign. The aim is to raise money and awareness to help children impacted by the East African crisis. East Africa is in the grips of one of the worst food crises ever. Across Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti 12.4 million people (more than half the Australian population) are affected by this devastating crisis, inuding over 2 million children. In Southern Somalia a famine has been declared and 600,000 children are on the brink of death. Urgent life saving action is desparately needed. Unicef is providing therapeutic food to tackle severe malnutrition, clean water and health services, vaccination campaigns and protection mechanisms for displaced children.</p>
